The Emerging Theme on Visual Culture group invites submissions for the 26th Congress of the IAMCR in Stockholm, July 20-25 2008. We are particularly interested in paper proposals related to this year’s theme: Media and Global Divides.
Cultural studies are relevant to this theme and we will organize
several panels on visual media research from the critical view point,
particularly on visual culture. We would like to encourage submission
of papers focusing on cultural studies in non-western contexts
including Asia, Africa and Latin America in addition to Anglo-European
