Durban 2012 Local Organising Committee

The conference is a joint venture between the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and SACOMM (the South African Communication Association). A local organising committee (LOC) is in place, representing a number of different campuses on which SACOMM is based, as well as a core of UKZN faculty. Several LOC individuals have recent experience of hosting SACOMM conferences in Johannesburg (2010) and Potchefstroom (2009). Although these were local events with much smaller numbers, their advice and experience has proved to be invaluable.

The LOC is chaired jointly by Dr. Michele Tager (SACOMM President) of North-West University (Potchefstroom campus) and Prof. Ruth Teer-Tomaselli (UKZN). Prof Donal McCracken (UKZN) is the Conference Treasurer. Ms. Wandile Sibisi is the secretary. The rest of the team comprises SACOMM members from different Universities.
