The IAMCR Executive Board (EB) extends a warm welcome to our five newly appointed PhD ambassadors: Jeremiah M. Nganda from Daystar University, Kenya; Priyanka Sachdeva from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, India; Gizem Canalp from Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus; Xudong Weng from the Communication University of China; and Victor C. Eze from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. The IAMCR EB also congratulates Uma Shankar Pandey for continuing as a faculty ambassador in India.

With the newly appointed ambassadors joining the network, IAMCR now has fifteen ambassadors from around the world. See the list of IAMCR's current ambassadors, their bios and strategic plans here

IAMCR established the global network of ambassadors in 2015 to bring members together for contributing to IAMCR's aim to support and develop communication and media research throughout the world through intellectual exchange, networking and sociality. IAMCR Ambassadors programme aims to expand IAMCR's footprint worldwide, build and retain the association's membership and reputation, and publicise and promote the association's work in relevant academic and policy fields. IAMCR Ambassadors explore opportunities to contribute to these aims in a variety of ways. These can include working with university departments, local and regional communication and media research bodies and think tanks, and NGOs involved in media advocacy and research.

The network continues to grow, and IAMCR welcomes new applications to become IAMCR faculty ambassadors and IAMCR PhD ambassadors. For more information about the initiative, visit the Ambassador initiative page on the website; if you wish to have further information on becoming an ambassador or the details on how to apply, you can take a look at the open call for ambassadors. Moreover, you can contact Mazlum Kemal Dağdelen, the ambassador initiative coordinator and the assistant of Nico Carpentier, IAMCR president. If you are interested in joining the network, see the article Become an IAMCR ambassador.
