Announcements -- IAMCR public list

About Announcements

Visit the IAMCR website

IAMCR maintains this list for announcements of interest to IAMCR members and the global media and communication research community.

Postings to the list can include:
(-|-) IAMCR official news and announcements: Notices of IAMCR activities, publications, reports, meetings, etc..
(-|-) External news & announcements: News of IAMCR members' international events, external events, requests for information, new publications, job postings, etc.

English is the list's principle language. Posts in French or Spanish should include a brief explanation of the content in English.

The list is for the promotion of events of international interest and reach. Consider carefully whether this list is appropriate for your event before posting. An international conference you are planning for 6 months from now on a topic of general interest is. A seminar to be held at your university in 3 days issue is not.

We discourage sending attachments to the list. Please consider including a URL linking to your website or document. Files larger than 450 KB may not be distributed.

List policies are designed to be friendly to subscribers while avoiding spam and ensuring that content is relevant to IAMCR members and the media and communication research community.

The list is lightly moderated. All messages are approved before being distributed to ensure relevance and adhesion to the list policies

Messages must be addressed specifically and uniquely to the list. (i.e. if the list address is in the BCC field, or if the message is addressed other addresses in addition to the list, it may not be distributed and may be automatically rejected by the server).

Messages sent from email addresses not subscribed to the list are automatically rejected and a message is sent to the sender explaining why it was rejected.

If one or more inappropriate messages are sent to the list from a subscribing address, then future messages from that address may be banned from posting. Examples of such messages include spam, viruses, content that is not specifically of interest to IAMCR members and the media and communication research community and messages from hacked email accounts.
