Religion, Communication & Culture Working Group

The International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) will held its annual conference from 16-20 July, 2017 in Cartagena, Colombia. IAMCR's Religion, Communication & Culture Working Group invites proposals that reflect the the section's interest. 
The Religion, Communication & Culture Working Group of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) invites proposals for papers to be presented at the annual IAMCR conference  from 27 -31 July, 2016 at the University of Leicester, UK. The deadline to submit your abstract is midnight GMT on 15 February 2016.
Conference theme: "Memory, Commemoration and Communication: Looking Back, Looking Forward"

It is not always clear, though, how religion serves in a communicative role, especially in the mass media.  The IAMCR Media, Religion and Culture Working Group invites proposals for papers exploring clarifications of the religious as  a context for civil participation and responsibility both more generally and also focused on the conference theme: "Communication and Citizenship: Rethinking Crisis and Change".
