April 18- 19, 2025, in Shanghai, China.

The "SJTU-IAMCR Emerging Media Forum", jointly organized by the School of Media and Communication at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), will be held on April 18- 19, 2025, in Shanghai, China. The theme of this year’s forum is "Intelligent Transformation and Communication Innovation". Experts, scholars, and students from both domestic and international institutions, will gather in Shanghai to engage in in-depth discussions on how the intersection of media, technology, and humanities in the context of rapid digitalization and intelligent technologies is redefining and driving communication innovation and the future development of global society.

This forum will particularly focus on the role of intelligent media in addressing global challenges such as climate change, public health, social governance, and industrial transformation. The forum will explore how communication practices can promote dialogue between technology and humanities, contributing to the sustainable development of global society.

The forum will be a physical meeting and invites scholars, industry experts, and young researchers from around the world to share the latest research findings and practical experiences, fostering interdisciplinary and cross-cultural academic dialogue and collaboration. As the first collaboration between the School of Media and Communication at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and IAMCR, this forum is not only an academic event but also a significant platform for advancing innovation and cooperation in the global field of media and communication studies. We look forward to providing an open space for exchange, where participants can explore cutting-edge issues at the intersection of media, technology, and humanities, and contribute to building a more inclusive and sustainable global society.
