The IAMCR Webinar Series aims to open channels for engagement and participation in addition to the association's annual conference, keeping IAMCR members connected and engaged with regular dialogue about issues of importance to the international media and communication research community.
Webinars are organised by members, with the support of IAMCR’s thematic Sections and Working groups or its Committees and Task Forces. They can include roundtable discussions, paper presentations, book launches, interviews, etc.
Webinars are open and free of charge to all IAMCR members, although spaces may be limited. We use the Zoom platform and pre-registration is required. A limited number of invitations for non-members may be available.
The IAMCR Webinar Series is coordinated by IAMCR vice president Andrea Medrado.

15 January, 2024 - The Media Education Research and Emerging Scholars Network Sections organised the webinar "Taming the butterflies: How to write good abstracts and constructively review for Early Career Scholars" with insights into IAMCR conference submissions and the review process. 16 May, 2023 - The Environment, Science and Risk Communication working group sponsored a webinar centered on the Indian environmentalist Ashish Kothari’s work on radical alternatives to today's unsustainable, inequitable society and economy.
27 April, 2023- The Audience Section sponsored a webinar to launch the book "Creating Chaos Online: Disinformation and Post-publics”. 03 March, 2023 - IAMCR's Journalism Research and Education Section sponsored the webinar titled "Empowering Women Journalists in the Global South", reflecting upon the diverse issues that impinge on women journalists’ professional lives and thus rendering them less empowered to perform their journalistic roles.
21 February, 2023 - IAMCR’s GA4SBC Task Force in partnership with the Global Alliance for Social and Behaviour Change (GA4SBC) and UNICEF hosted a webinar titled "Communication for Development (C4D) contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals – Learning from research supported by the UNICEF/IAMCR C4D Fund".
16 November, 2022 - The Music, Audio, Radio and Sound Working Group sponsored a webinar celebrating the publication of The Routledge Companion to Radio and Podcast Studies. The book brings together scholars from various parts of the world, both well-established and emerging scholars, to conceptualize this multidisciplinary field.

7 June, 2022 -IAMCR's Communication Policy & Technology Section organised a webinar to present the book “Concealing for Freedom: The Making of Encryption, Secure Messaging and Digital Liberties”, co-authored by Francesca Musiani and Ksenia Ermoshina.
IAMCR has organised six webinars since the launch of its Webinar Series in March 2021. 19 March 2021 IAMCR launched its Webinar Series with the webinar titled "Digital Divide and Digital Inclusion", addressing the issue of digital gaps and focused on integration opportunities for different social groups. The event was co-hosted by the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University and IAMCR Digital Divide Working Group.
16 April 2021 - The Visual Culture Working Group sponsored the webinar "BRICS Short Film Fest", screening five short films from BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) followed by presentations from the directors of the shorts.
