We are pleased to announce that IAMCR will hold its 2027 annual conference in São Paulo, Brazil, bringing the conference back to South America after ten years and marking the Association's 70th anniversary.
Hosted by the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo (ECA/USP) in partnership with the Associação de Apoio à Arte e Comunicação (ARCO), the conference will take place from 18 to 22 July 2027 under the theme Multilateralism, Democracy, Diversity: Communication for a More Just World.

The decision to hold the conference in São Paulo was confirmed with the signing of an agreement during the IAMCR 2026 conference in Galway and was formally announced at the closing ceremony on 2 July.
Claudia Lago, Chair of the Local Organising Commission, said:
We are very pleased to host IAMCR 2027. We are confident that everyone who attends will enjoy not only the academic debates and activities, but also the welcoming atmosphere here in Brazil.
The conference is expected to bring together around 1,500 media and communication researchers from around the world. The call for proposals will open in November 2026. Stay tuned!
