IAMCR's 2014 conference took place in Hyderabad, India from 15-19 July. The conference theme was Region as Frame: Politics, Presence, Practice.

“Building Community–Shaping Change: The Role of Community, Citizen and Alternative Media in Regional Transformation” was the title of an IAMCR 2014 pre-conference organised by the Community Communication Section and the UNESCO Chair on Community Media. See the report here.
"Governing Digital Spaces: Issues of Access, Freedom and Privacy" was the title of an IAMCR 2014 plenary dealing with internet governance. Video recordings of the presentations are now online.

IAMCR paid tribute to the memory of Stuart Hall by dedicating one of its plenary sessions in his honour at its 2014 conference in Hyderabad, India. You can now see the video recordings of the session.
The following are the statements of the candidates for positions as officers of the IAMCR Sections and Working Groups holding elections during the 2014 conference in Hyderabad.
Communication and cultural studies scholars the world over learned with deep regret of the passing on February 20, 2014, of Professor Stuart Hall, one of the preeminent and iconic leaders of social and political discourse in our field. At its 2014 conference in Hyderabad, India, IAMCR will pay tribute to the memory of Stuart Hall by dedicating one of its plenary sessions in his honour. The plenary panel will take place on Wednesday July 16 from 11:00 to 12:30 in the Main Hall of the Hyderabad Conference Centre. A special IAMCR award in Hall’s name will be announced at the session.
Several of IAMCR's Sections and Working Groups will be holding elections for their officers during IAMCR 2014 in Hyderabad. Below are the election announcements of the individual Section and Working Groups.
The elections will be managed by the incumbent officers of each section or working group, in accordance with the Rules and practices for the election of Section and Working Group Heads adopted by the International Council in Dublin, June 25th, 2013.
IAMCR is making twenty five grants of up to US$1,500 each available to early-stage scholars, who are members in good standing, reside in low and middle income countries and will be participating in our upcoming conference in Hyderabad, India.
The cash grants are intended to help offset the travel costs of IAMCR members who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference. You must have a paper accepted for presentation in order to apply. Applications must be received by 5 April 2014.

The deadline to submit panel and paper proposals for IAMCR's 2014 conference in Hyderabad, India was Tuesday February 10 at midnight GMT. The conference takes place from 15 -19 July, 2014.
