Description
Annabelle's sudden death at the close of 2022 robbed the global academy, IAMCR, and her many devoted colleagues and friends, of a splendid scholar-activist-mensch. She was committed to feminist, global, justice-oriented media research and teaching. She made strong contributions to IAMCR for over four decades, including as President (2009-2012), as an International Council member, and on the Publications Committee, to name only the most salient ones. She consistently promoted and defended the interests of the professional community of media and communication researchers in freedom of academic thought and expression and in career development.
This tribute will provide multiple academic and personal glimpses of this very productive author, whose works are widely cited, and are used in classes across the planet. After brief statements by the participants listed below, the microphone will be open to those present.
