IAMCR 2016 awards

In conjunction with IAMCR 2016, to be held in Leicester, UK from 27-31 July, IAMCR is offering a number of awards and grants. The deadline to apply for most of them is 15 April. They include:

Travel Grants: Twenty-six travel grants of up to US$1,500 will be made available to early-stage scholars who are members in good standing, reside in low and middle income countries and have papers accepted for presentation at our upcoming conference in Leicester, UK. Herbert I. Schiller Award: The IAMCR prize in memory of Herbert I. Schiller will be awarded for a paper which combines scholarly excellence with a commitment to developing and extending the critical, innovative and engaged spirit that characterised Schiller's own contribution to communications analysis. Graduate students and early-career scholars are invited to apply. The deadline to apply is 15 April, 2016. For details, visit http://iamcr.org/awards/schiller2016

UCF/IAMCR Urban Communication Research Grant: Funded by the Urban Communication Foundation, this grant supports communication and media research that advances our understanding of the growing complexity of the urban environment. The grant is open to all IAMCR members in good standing. The deadline to apply is 15 April, 2016. More information is available at http://iamcr.org/ucf-iamcr-research-grant/2016

Climate Change Communication Research in Action Award: Offered in cooperation with the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA), this award seeks to recognise scholars whose research has had a notable positive impact on the practice of climate communication. Nominees do not need to be members of IAMCR or the IECA but only members of either organisation may submit a nomination. Nominations must be received by 6 May, 2016.
