IAMCR will present a special panel at the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) 2024 Conference to be held from 24 to 27 September 2024 at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. IAMCR members attending the ECREA conference are cordially invited to join us at this special session.
IAMCR Panel: The future of communication: New and old actors

Description
The panel will use a future-oriented perspective to reflect about communication, and how different actors, old and new, intervene in the creation of always-potential communicative futures, and how societal expectations towards these interventions exist. The panel thus combines analytical and normative approaches towards the actions of media industries, regulators and other state agencies, and shifts between national, regional and global perspectives, in order to reflect about what the future of communication might and/or should bring.
