Join IAMCR as an individual member (L)

IAMCR membership is calendar based (January through December). All fees are in US Dollars.

To become a new individual member:

Select your membership category.
Make an optional contribution to the IAMCR Memorial Awards and/or the Travel Grant Fund.
Select your payment method. Payment via bank transfer incurs an extra $25 fee to cover fees and administration.
Complete your personal profile.
If you are paying with a credit or debit card, add or verify the required address information.
Add any information that you would like to appear on the payment receipt (optional).
Click on the Confirm Contribution button.
If you choose to pay with a credit or debit card, you will be taken to the payment processor's website (Global Payments) to complete your payment. If you choose to pay via bank transfer, you will receive an invoice and payment instructions by email.

New membership

Membership Category *

Student members are members without a PhD and must be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate programme. Documentation attesting student status must be provided upon request.

Casual staff are: (1) contract or part time researchers or lecturers on a one-year or less non-permanent and non-tenure track contract; (2) contract or part time researchers or lecturers employed part time at less than 50%; (3) postdoctoral research fellows.

Allied members are current members of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Investigadores de la Comunicación (ALAIC) or the Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC).

Travel Grant Fund

IAMCR offers travel grants of up to US$ 2,000 each to members who are early-stage scholars and would otherwise be unable to attend our conferences. Please consider making a donation to the travel grant fund. It's a great way to encourage emerging scholars and new perspectives within IAMCR. More info...

IAMCR Memorial Awards

Each year IAMCR awards a prize in memory of Herbert I. Schiller, Dallas W. Smythe, Stuart Hall or Annabelle Sreberny to a student or young scholar for a paper of a high standard that reflects the critical traditions embodied by these four scholars. Please consider contributing to the 2025 award in memory of Stuart Hall. More info...
