All papers examining Media and Sport from a full range of perspectives will be considered for presentation in Leicester. Authors are reminded to consider the 2016 convention theme, "Memory, Commemoration and Communication: Looking Back and Looking Forward", in preparing their manuscripts.

The Media and Sport section has traditionally been a platform inter/trans/multi disciplinary inspired work and we would be delighted to receive such papers again this year.

Abstracts of no more than 500 words should be upload between December 1, 2015 and February 15, 2016. Upon submission of an abstract, you will be asked to confirm that your submission is original and that it has not been previously published in the form presented. You will also be given an opportunity to declare if your submission is currently before another conference for consideration.

Authors will receive approval/rejection notices by April 1, 2016.

Please note that abstracts, papers and panels must be submitted through the online Open Conference System.

IAMCR accepts presentations in English, French and Spanish. However, abstracts should be submitted in English.

Early submission is strongly encouraged. We would appreciate a personal email message sent to division chair Dee Hynes (d.hynes(at)mmu.ac.uk) AND division vice-chair Anthony Moretti (moretti(at)rmu.edu) stating an intention to submit an abstract or panel proposal.

IAMCR reminds you that you should submit no more than one single-authored abstract/paper and that there will be no more than two bearing the name of the same applicant either individually or as part of any group of authors. You also should not submit the same abstract or one that is slightly modified to other Sections or Working Groups. Such submissions will be deemed in breach of the conference guidelines and will be rejected by the Open Conference System, the relevant Head or by the Conference Programme Reviewer. Such applicants also risk being removed entirely from the conference programme.

Presenters are expected to bring fully developed work to the conference. Prior to the conference, it is expected that a completed paper will be submitted to Section, Working Group, Session Chairs, and/or Discussants.

The final conference program should be ready by late-May 2016.
