IAMCR 2016 - Plenary sessions

IAMCR Newsletter - July 2016

Plenary sessions

IAMCR 2016 will feature three plenary sessions – the opening plenary on 27 July, one on Communication Rights, and one focused on the central theme of the conference,  Memory, Commemoration and Communication.

  • On Wednesday 27th July, the opening plenary, by Professor Graham Murdock and Dr Shakuntala Banaji will be followed by an opening reception with drinks and canapes and music from Cees Hamelink and his jazz band. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough to sit outside in the gardens of the historic De Montfort Hall, where all of our plenaries will take place.
  • The second plenary of the week is on Communication Rights chaired by Prof. Marc Raboy with speakers Anita Gurumurthy, Professor Sonia Livingstone and Professor Thomas Tufte.
  • Last, but by no means least, the plenary on Memory Commemoration and Communication will be chaired by Professor Annabelle Sreberny and will feature Dr Emily Keightley, Professor Michael Pickering, Professor Barbie Zelizer and Dr Keren Tenenboim-Weinblatt.
