This message from the heads of the Public Service Media Policies Working Group was distributed to all the working group members in May 2020.
Dear Public Service Media Policies WG members,
We hope this message finds you well and safe in these trying times.
As you may know, elections of IAMCR Sections/Working Groups governing bodies (Chair and Vice-Chair) take place every four years at the S/WG business meetings during the IAMCR annual conference.
The elections of our Working Group leadership were due for 2020. However, along with other S/WGs, we have sought and received approval from the IAMCR Executive Board to extend our mandate by another year and hold our elections in 2021 instead.
This decision was made in consideration of the extraordinary circumstances we are all living through at the moment, and the fact that the IAMCR conference will take place online-only this year. By postponing the election to 2021 (in what we all hope will be normal circumstances again!), we will also give members extra time to consider putting themselves forward for elections next year.
