The 2016 conference of the International Association for Media and Communication Research - IAMCR 2016 - will be held from July 27-31 in Leicester, United Kingdom. Hosted by the Department of Media and Communication at the University of Leicester.
The conference theme is Memory, Commemoration and Communication: Looking Back, Looking Forward. At the heart of the IAMCR annual conference is the work of sections and working groups which provide the opportunity to present papers in a wide range of areas of study in media and communication, and to meet scholars from around the world with overlapping research interests.
Consult the General Call for Proposals or the Calls for Proposals of individual sections and working groups.
In hosting the conference, the Department of Media and Communication at Leicester will mark 50 years since the founding of the Centre for Mass Communication Research, which played a central role in the development of the field of media and communication. The Centre's founder, James Halloran, was IAMCR President from 1972-1990 and the Department continues to have strong links with the Association.
