UNICEF/IAMCR Communication for Development Research Fund

Funded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and managed by the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), the UNICEF/IAMCR Communication for Development Research Fund support research initiatives that advance our understanding of how Communication for Development (C4D) contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The fund is open to early-career IAMCR members from low and middle income countries. 

The first round of the fund will support two small research initiatives to be undertaken no later than January 2020 and completed by May 2020. Two more research initiatives will be supported to begin by December 2020 and be completed by May 2021. Successful applicants will receive a first instalment of USD 2,500 on signing of the contract, to contribute towards the operational cost to implement the research project, and USD 1,500 to support their attendance at the IAMCR conference to present their research report or paper. 

The research supported will closely link with and contribute to the work of the Global Alliance for Social and Behaviour Change (GASBC).

C4D 2021 grants awarded

We are pleased to announce that Sneh Gupta (India) and the team of Solomon Oyeleye and Ifedolapo Ademosu (Nigeria) have been awarded research grants from the UNICEF/IAMCR Communication for Development Research Fund to support research that seeks to advance our understanding of how Communication for Development contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
