Statement

Emmanuel K. Ngwainmbi is an international communication adviser, professor,and senior consultant for 15 international organizations. He serves on 12 editorial boards in peer-reviewed journals and global academic boards, including the Global Listening Center, and has over 40 years of experience researching, teaching, publishing, and managing communication. Prof Ngwainmbi has received awards for academic and journalistic work, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, 3-time Who’s Among America’s Teachers, and the Lifetime Fellow Award from the International Society for Development and Sustainability. For IAMCR, he presented a paper at the IAMCR/UNESCO pre-conference titled: "Press insecurity in coverage of the Anglophone war in Cameroon. Towards protecting journalistic integrity and marginalized journalists". He has held senior management roles and memberships in international finance and communication organizations and has published 25 books and numerous articles in journals, newspapers, and encyclopedias.

His writings are translated into Mandarin, French, Spanish, Afrikaans, Portuguese, and German. Ngwainmbi’s publishers include Lynne Reiner, Routledge, Anthem, Sage, Greenwood, university presses, and Palgrave Macmillan. He has edited five books on communication and contemporary philosophy. He is widely considered a modern social scientist and public intellectual with hands-on experience in academia, globalization, and change/development communication. Prof. Ngwainmbi, is an outstanding senior researcher and practitioner with experience at the UN an several NGOS. As part of his academic work, he is doing a great work at bringing scholars from the global south together and generating the conditions for an internal debate on relevant communication topics. This debate has cristalized on several books publicated by Springer Nature, Palgrave and Routledge, among others, helping the reflection on the communication in and from the global south.

For these reasons, I believe that someone as Prof. Ngwainmbi, would contribute to the quality and the diversity of the debates within the IAMCR.
