Statement

Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Fatima Jinnah Women University in Pakistan, my academic journey has been fulfilling, with an MS in Public Policy in Science and Technology Innovation from the University of Sussex,England and a subsequent PhD in 'News in the Networked Ecosystem' from the University of Stirling, Scotland. Motivated by a profound sense of responsibility, I am willing to contribute more significantly to our global community. Throughout my career, I have explored diverse research areas, including Digital Communication, News in Networked Environments, Youth and News Consumption, Science Journalism, Journalism in Pakistan, and Media Theory.

International experiences, such as the 2019 Summer Institute at the University of Oxford and fellowships at Malmo University (Sweden) in 2022 and the University of Augsburg (Germany) in 2023, have enriched my understanding and nurtured a global perspective. If honored with the acceptance of my nomination, I am dedicated to enhancing IAMCR's presence in the Asian region, with a specific focus on Pakistan. My objective is to establish close collaborations with IAMCR’s international ambassadors, elevating IAMCR's profile and encouraging increased membership engagement in Asia, thereby advancing communication studies in Pakistan.

In addition to being a competent academic and a true researcher, Dr Saadia Ishtiaq Nauman has excellent interpersonal skills which help her connect with people in various settings. She is well travelled and quite active in networking, taking on board suitable individuals in collaborative academic pursuits. Her friendly nature makes her a pleasant company. I believe members like her in IC will give a boost to the activity of IC and the Association as a whole.
