IAMCR Webinar "Comics and Politics"

Perspectives from India and Mexico

Join the Comic Art Working Group for this roundtable that seeks to enable dialogue and discussion among scholars from different national contexts on the various uses of comic art to frame political issues by different actors, from activism to public policy.

The webinar presents the opportunity to gather members of the Comic Art Working Group to discuss their research work and/or discuss case studies from their countries. We used the term “Politics” in a broad sense to describe the practices than can lead to improve education, political participation, science, democracy and human rights, among others; in other words, we are interested in those discourses that make use of the comic art grammar to foster social development and empower society.

When: Friday 24 April at 15:00 UTC / 08h00 Los Angeles / 11h00 New York / 16h00 London / 17h00 Paris / 18h00 Nairobi / 20h30 Kolkata. The event will last 90 minutes.
