1/ PARTICIPATORY AND COMMUNITY COMMUNICATION WEBINAR
For the second consecutive year, the Participatory Communication Research (PCR) and Community Communication and Alternative Media (CAM) Sections organised a two-day webinar on the theme “Problematising Participatory Communication and Transformation: Between Promise and Paradox.” Ten papers were presented over the two days, with 44 people registered/ in attendance.

2/PCR-IAMCR GALWAY 2026
The call for papers for IAMCR Galway 2026 is now available at:

The submission of abstracts and panel proposals is now open at https://iamcr.org/galway2026/submit and the deadline is 3 February 2026, at 23:59 UTC.

3/CALL FOR FORMAL PARTICIPATION IN PCR
The PCR Section invites members to actively contribute to its ongoing academic and organisational initiatives. Opportunities include:
- Peer-reviewing conference abstracts
- Chairing sessions
- Assisting with translation (during presentations and also for newsletters like this one!)
- Facilitating online events and webinars
Members are also encouraged to volunteer for additional roles identified during the Key Notes session.
Please complete this form to express your interest and become more involved in shaping the work of the PCR network.
4/PCR MEMBERS' UPDATE
- Jessica Noske-Turner, (PCR Co-Chair), Skye Doherty (PCR Member) and Helen Marshall, are co-editing a special issue on “Creative Futures: Imagination-Based Methodologies” for the journal Futures & Foresight Science. - Dorismilda Flores-Márquez, Jorge Saavedra and Ana Cristina Suzina (PCR and CAM members), are co-editing a special issue on “Activisms in times of crisis: Theoretical and methodological contributions from the field of communication” for the journal Comunicación y Sociedad. - Jo Tacchi and Jessica Noske-Turner (PCR Members) are proud to announce that Loughborough University has awarded an Honorary Doctorate to Mr James Chiutsi, President of the Malawi Paralympic Committee and collaborator on the Para Sport Against Stigma project. Por segundo año consecutivo, las secciones de Investigación en Comunicación Participativa (PCR) y Comunicación Comunitaria y Medios Alternativos (CAM) organizaron un seminario web de dos días sobre el tema “Problematizar la comunicación participativa y la transformación: entre la promesa y la paradoja”. La Sección de Investigación en Comunicación Participativa invita a socias y socios a contribuir activamente en las iniciativas académicas y organizacionales. Estas oportunidades incluyen:
- Revisión por pares de resúmenes
- Moderar sesiones
- Apoyar en la traducción (tanto en las presentaciones como en los boletines de noticias como este)
- Facilitar eventos en línea y webinars
También invitamos a las y los integrantes a participar voluntariamente en roles adicionales durante la sesión de conferencia magistral.
