1/ NEW PCR HEAD ELECTED FOR 2024-2028
A warm welcome to the new PCR Head:
- Jessica Noske-Turner and Lauren Dyll - co-chairs
- Aniruddha Jena and Amit Verma - vice-chairs
The PCR Head thanks all the 5 candidates running and the 50% of our membership that voted.
The new PCR Head will be formally approved in the IAMCR General Assembly that will take place on 4 July 2024 at 15:45, at the Te Pae Convention Centre, Ōtautahi Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand.

2/ ANOTHER UCF PRIZE. CONGRATS!
The PCR Head is happy to announce that one of the Urban Communication Awards was attributed to our members Hongyu Zhu and Zizhong Zhang (Tsinghua University) for “Revitalizing City Branding Through Concerts? Cultural Circuit, Fandom, Urban Public Relations in Xi’an: A Case Study Regarding TFBOYS Ten-Year-Anniversary Concert”, that will be presented in the PCR- 5 session, 2 July, 8h30. And there will be a special session for awards, 3 July, 10h30, Te Pae Dobson 2. Congratulations, Hongyu Zhu and Zizhong Zhang!

3/ IAMCR CHRISTCHURCH 2024 | PCR PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
As IAMCR CHRISTCHURCH 2024 is quickly approaching, here are some highlights of the PCR program:
- PCR Keynote Session
The university as a relational space: challenging colonial continuities in higher education through participatory approaches to teaching and learning alongside students in Aotearoa, by Maja Zonjić (New Zealand).
It’s been a tradition that our section organizes an opening PCR Keynote Session where we try to share and give voice to the hosting community of the conference by inviting a guest with local knowledge. Come to learn more about the local territories' participatory experiences. 1 July, 8h30 - PCR 1
- Communication and participation for social justice and democracy:
Visions, debates and struggles, organized by Vaia Doudaki (Czech Republic) is a panel organised by Vaia Doudaki that is also a seminal session for the Communication, Social Justice and Democracy (CSD) Working Group.
- From 1 July - 4 July the Participatory Communication Research Section will host and organize 10 sessions that you do not want to miss. Check them all here: https://iamcr.org/christchurch2024/app
- The PCR Business Meeting - PCR-11 will take place at Te Pae Conway 2, on 4 July, 14h00. It will mark the end of the current PCR Head mandate and the transition to a new management team, there will be a symbolic tribute to our colleague Arun John and it is a great opportunity to discuss plans, achievements and opportunities for the section.
- Get Together - Celebrating the PCR as a community, getting to know each other better and enjoying the conviviality dimension of the conference, we invite everyone for a drink and a chat and some finger food on July 1st at 7:15 pm in The Church Pub (124 Worcester Street). Consumption on site will be individual responsibility. Come and join us!

Le damos una calurosa bienvenida a la nueva coordinación de la Sección de Investigación en Comunicación Participativa:

Agradecemos a las cinco personas candidatas, así como a quienes votaron. La nueva coordinación de la Sección será aprobada formalmente en la Asamblea General de IAMCR, que se llevará a cabo el 4 de julio de 2024, a las 15:45 horas, en el Te Pae Convention Centre, Ōtautahi Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand.

2/ OTRO PREMIO DE LA UCF. ¡FELICITACIONES!
Nos complace informar que uno de los Premios de Comunicación Urbana fue concedido a nuestros miembros Hongyu Zhu y Zizhong Zhang (Tsinghua University) por la ponencia “Revitalizing City Branding Through Concerts? IAMCR Christchurch 2024 se acerca. He aquí algunos elementos destacados del programa de nuestra Sección:
- PCR Sesión de apertura. The university as a relational space: challenging colonial continuities in higher education through participatory approaches to teaching and learning alongside students in Aotearoa, por Maja Zonjić (New Zealand).
Es ya tradición que nuestra sección organiza una conferencia de apertura en la que se busca compartir y dar voz a la comunidad anfitriona, invitando a alguien que aporte conocimiento local. Acompáñenos a aprender más sobre las experiencias participativas de los territorios locales, el 1 de julio a las 8:30 AM.
- Communication and participation for social justice and democracy:
Visions, debates and struggles, es un panel organizado por Vaia Doudaki, que es también la sesión seminal del Grupo de Trabajo Comunicación, Justicia Social y Democracia.
- Del 1 al 4 de julio, la Sección de Investigación en Comunicación Participativa tendrá 10 sesiones que no se pueden perder. Consulten el programa en: https://iamcr.org/christchurch2024/app
- La Reunión de Trabajo de la Sección de Investigación en Comunicación Participativa (PCR-11) se realizará en la sala Te Pae Conway 2, el 4 de julio a las 14:00 horas. Esta representa el fin de la actual coordinación de la Sección y la transición hacia un nuevo equipo coordinador. Tendremos también un tributo simbólico a nuestro colega Arun John. Asimismo, es una gran oportunidad para discutir planes, logros y oportunidades para la Sección.
- Get Together. Para celebrar que somos una comunidad, conocernos mejor y disfrutar de la dimensión de convivencia en la conferencia, les invitamos a tomar una copa y una botana, así como platicar el lunes 1 de junio a las 7:15 PM en The Church Pub (124 Worcester Street).
