1/ IAMCR LYON 2023 | CHALLENGES AND EXPECTATIONS
Preparations for the Lyon23 conference are proceeding at a good pace, keeping us busy with the multiple tasks at hand.
The option for a dual format (online and face-to-face) ends up posing particular challenges, with the review and selection process probably being the most complex and controversial. A fact that is even more relevant taking into account that this was the conference that aroused the most interest throughout the already long history of the IAMCR, with 2,850 submissions.
This newsletter focuses on providing all information about the submission, review and selection process for the conference and to alert to the important Key Dates:
- 15 May - conference paper submission platform opens
- 5 June - deadline to submit final paper
- 26 June - OCP23 begins online
- 9 - 13 July - Lyon23
- 12 September - Online Conference Papers taken offline
2/ RECORD NUMBERS PUT EXTRA PRESSURE IN THE SELECTION PROCESS
The PCR received a total of 121 submissions, 78 of which were accepted, including 3 panels, resulting in a high rate of rejections (37%), with 43 submissions declined.
In addition to the first selection phase based on the values of the ranking resulting from the review, an extra challenge was added this year. Due to the limited space available at Lyon, the EB assigned a number of places in the local conference to each section. The PCR was assigned 40. We decided to choose the 40 best scored papers, the cutting line was 3.5 points.
3/ THANKS TO REVIEWERS
The review process encompassed all submissions, taking into account the conference as a whole, regardless of whether they were intended to participate online or in person.
The Ex Ordo platform registers a record of 246 reviews completed during 14 days by a body of 34 reviewers, with an average of 8 reviews each.
The PCR section is particularly grateful to all the reviewers, as it is their work that ensures a double and qualified selection process.
4/ OCP23 AND Lyon23 PAPER SUBMISSION AND REGISTRATION GUIDELINES
OCP23 will start on 26 June wherever you are.
Lyon23 will take place from 9-13 July - do not forget to register by 18 May to be included in the programme.
Either way you are required to submit your paper (2000 to 4000 words) from 15 May and before 5 june.

5/ WAITING LIST TO LYON23
If your submission was not accepted to the face-to-face conference at Lyon23, you still can try to have a chance by sending a request to registrations2023@iamcr.org
Please bear in mind that only authors of abstracts originally submitted for Lyon23 and OCP23 are eligible. If you submitted your abstract for OCP23 only you will not be added to the list.

There is more and more participation of the members in the Facebook group and we are very happy about that. This space is enriched when people from different parts of the world and research backgrounds share calls for papers or invitations to participate in academic events and new publications as well.

Los preparativos para IAMCR Lyon23 avanzan a buen ritmo, manteniéndonos ocupados con las múltiples tareas que nos corresponden.
La opción de un formato dual (en línea y presencial) abre retos particulares, siendo probablemente el proceso de revisión y selección el más complejo y controvertido, un hecho aún más relevante si se tiene en cuenta que ésta ha sido la conferencia que más interés ha despertado a lo largo de la historia de la IAMCR, con 2,850 propuestas.
Este boletín aporta información sobre el proceso de presentación, revisión y selección de la conferencia y en alertar sobre las fechas importantes:
- 15 de mayo - apertura de la plataforma de presentación de ponencias
- 5 de junio - fecha límite para subir la ponencia completa
- 26 de junio - inicio del OCP23 en línea
- 9 - 13 de julio - Lyon23
- 12 de septiembre - se desconectan las ponencias de la conferencia en línea
2/ NÚMERO RÉCORD DE RESÚMENES AUMENTA LA PRESIÓN EN EL PROCESO DE SELECCIÓN
La Sección de Investigación en Comunicación Participativa recibió un total de 121 propuestas, 78 de las cuales fueron aceptadas, incluidos 3 paneles. Esto dio lugar a un elevado índice de rechazos (37%), con 43 propuestas rechazadas.
Además de la primera fase de selección basada en los valores de la clasificación resultante de la revisión, este año se añadió un reto adicional. Debido al limitado espacio disponible en Lyon, el Comité Ejecutivo asignó a cada sección un número de espacios en la conferencia local. A nuestra sección se le asignaron 40. Decidimos elegir los 40 trabajos mejor puntuados, la línea de corte fue de 3.5 puntos.
3/ AGRADECIMIENTO A REVISORES
El proceso de revisión comprendió todas las presentaciones, teniendo en cuenta la conferencia en su conjunto, independientemente de si se pretendía participar en línea o en persona.
La plataforma ExOrdo registró un récord de 246 revisiones completadas durante 14 días por un cuerpo de 34 revisores, con una media de 8 revisiones cada uno.
La Sección de Investigación en Comunicación Participativa está especialmente agradecida con las y los revisores, ya que es su trabajo el que garantiza un proceso de selección doble y cualificado.
4/ LINEAMIENTOS PARA SUBIR PONENCIAS Y REGISTRARSE EN OCP23 Y LYON23
OCP23 comenzará el 26 de junio donde sea que estemos.
Lyon23 se llevará a cabo del 9 al 13 de julio. La fecha límite para registrarse es el 18 de mayo.
En cualquier caso, deberán subir su trabajo (de 2000 a 4000 palabras) a partir del 15 de mayo y antes del 5 de junio.

Si su propuesta no fue aceptada en la conferencia presencial de Lyon23, aún es posible buscar una oportunidad enviando un mensaje a registrations2023@iamcr.org
Por favor, tengan en cuenta que sólo podrán participar las y los autores de los resúmenes presentados originalmente para Lyon23 y OCP23. Si el resumen fue propuesto sólo para OCP23 no se le añadirá a la lista.
